U.S. government moves to stop potential banking crisis NEW YORK — The U.S. government took extraordinary steps Sunday to stop a potential banking crisis after the historic failure of Silicon Valley Bank, assuring depositors at the failed financial institution that they would be able to access all of their money quickly.The announcement came amid fears that the factors that caused the Santa Clara, California-based bank to fail could spread, and only hours before trading began in Asia. Regulators had worked all weekend to try and come up with a buyer for the bank, which was the second largest bank failure in history. Those efforts appeared to have failed as of Sunday.In a sign of quickly the financial bleeding was occurring, regulators announced that New York-based Signature Bank had failed and was being seized on Sunday. (KRON) -- Silicon Valley Bank will not be protected by a federal bailout after its failure, but depositors will have access to all of their funds as soon as Monday, according to the U.S. Department of Treasury. 3 men shot in Aurora after alleged dispute over possibly stolen car AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) -- The Aurora Police Department said three men have been shot after an alleged dispute over a possibly stolen car.Police responded to the shooting around 4:49 p.m. in the 14000 block of E. Montview Boulevard and told FOX31 the initial investigation determined there was "some sort of dispute over a vehicle leading up to the shooting." Dispute leads to shooting at Denver metro sports bar, one critically injured APD said one victim is in critical condition and the other two suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Two suspects, described as younger teens, ran away from the scene. Police said the suspects were wearing all black but were not located. No arrests have been made as of Sunday evening.Police are asking anyone with information to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. This is a breaking story.
