North St. Louis hospital cuts some urgent care services

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 07:14:22 GMT

ST. LOUIS -- The removal of trauma services at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, as reported by the Post-Dispatch, will result in the area lacking a dedicated facility to address urgent, severe injuries like those caused by gunshots, stabbings, or car crashes. SSM Health, the organization responsible for this decision, has cited a low volume of such patients as the reason behind scaling back trauma services.SSM Health has assured the community that they will work closely with local emergency services to facilitate a smooth transition during this change. Despite the discontinuation of trauma services, DePaul Hospital will retain its Level One designation for treating strokes and heart attacks, ensuring continued crucial care in those medical areas.

Mike Parson's desk, a Democratic senator asked for a few minutes of Parson's time to discuss how he would go about signing the bills into law. The two said Thursday, it's not that they agree on the topic, it's that they had respect for each other.  Missouri Supreme Court settles state spat delaying abortion ballot petition "I wanted to talk to him about the tone, either in an official release or a press conference, or just off the cuff to try to remind him as ...
